The Women's Energy Network Greater Pittsburgh Boots & Ballgowns Gala is a celebration of our truly outstanding members and a wonderful way to recognize them for all their accomplishments. Additionally, we are pleased to recognize the wonderful companies who uplift and encourage their female employees as they strive to achieve their goals.

Our auction during the event will benefit the Inaugural WEN Greater Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund, in its mission to enrich and educate women in the energy industry in furtherance of Leadership, STEM, and/or career-pivoting experiences.

Our auction during the event will benefit the Inaugural WEN Greater Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund, in its mission to enrich and educate women in the energy industry in furtherance of Leadership, STEM, and/or career-pivoting experiences. 

Women's Energy Network Greater Pittsburgh Chapter (WEN Greater Pittsburgh) believes that women belong in all facets of the energy industry and strives to support its members in reaching the next phase of their career. Unfortunately, obtaining training or additional educational to support this career development comes at a cost. To help defray these costs, WEN Greater Pittsburgh has established two scholarships.

1.    Tara Meek Women in STEM Scholarship – This scholarship is to support women in the Greater Pittsburgh area who work in science, technology, energy, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) seeking additional training, certificates or education to help them advance their career in energy related fields.

2.    Erin Magee Women in Leadership Scholarship - This scholarship is to support women in the Greater Pittsburgh area who work in energy related fields who are seeking additional training, certificates or coaching to help them gain the necessary leadership skills to advance in their career.

Both of these scholarships will be distributed on a rolling basis with the amount awarded depending on funding availability and number of applicants. 

Q: What do I wear?

A: We encourage attendees to wear cocktail attire, ballgowns, tuxes, or suits! All are also encouraged to wear boots. Check out the collage for a sample of the previous year's attire. Come ready to dance!

Q: Can I take photos and/or videos?

A: YES! Planning on taking selfies or short videos and posting them to social media? Don't forget to tag us! #WENGala2023, and tag our social media pages. Instagram tag is @wen_pittsburgh​; Facebook tag is @wenpgh​.



Q: When will the pictures be ready?

A: All media will be ready 3-4 weeks after the Gala. However, we will have a live feed of photos available during and after the gala via a QR code that will be shared during the gala to view pictures as they are uploaded. There will also be a sign located by the step and repeat on how to view photos during the event.

Q: Can I opt out of any photos and/or video recordings of myself to be used for marketing purposes of the event?

A: By attending the gala your likeness may be used in any media, including, but not limited to, photos, videos, and/or recordings to be used to promote the gala and/or future events as deemed necessary by Women's Energy Network as well as the Media Team. However, we will do our best to accommodate anyone not wishing to appear in close-up video or imagery. When attending the event, please kindly make a request with the nearest photographer or videographer. However, by attending the event, Women's Energy Network, its subsidiaries, and the media team have the right to use any image, photograph, voice, or likeness, without limitation, in its promotional materials and publicity efforts without compensation. All media becomes the property of WEN. Media may be displayed, distributed, or used by WEN for any purpose. WEN shall not be responsible for photographs or videos taken and/or shared by other event attendees.

A: See parking rates for options in the Westin Parking Garage and surrounding areas.

Q: Do I need to bring cash for the auction?

A: No, we are doing a Silent Auction that you will be able to bid directly from your phone on. An email will be sent out to all attendees with instructions before the gala. We will also have a sign by the auction basket table with instructions on how to participate.

Q: Will Walk-ins be accepted? 

A: No Walk-ins

Q: If my plans change, can I get a refund?

A: No refunds
