WebsiteMelissa Folz is the Managing Director of Non-Operated Assets at Chord Energy, formed through the merger of Oasis Petroleum and Whiting Petroleum in July 2022. Since joining the company in 2014, she has held a range of leadership roles spanning production, reservoir, and subsurface assessment. Her earlier career includes technical roles at Sabine Oil & Gas and Southwestern Energy, where she built a strong foundation in production and completions engineering. Melissa also served on the board of Permex Petroleum from 2022 to 2024.
She holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, with over 17 years of industry experience. Passionate about people development and inclusion, Melissa has been a mentor with the Women’s Energy Network and served on the advisory board for the University of Houston’s Women in Leadership program. She is also the founder of Chord Energy’s Women’s Network, the company’s first employee resource group. Outside of work, Melissa is a proud mom to her 9-year-old daughter, Charlotte, and brings a grounded, people-first approach to leadership.
