Save the Date! WEN Ohio is happy to announce a regulatory roundtable with the USACE, USFWS, ODNR, and OEPA on June 22, 12:00-1:30 pm EST. The agencies will provide a presentation and then the floor will be open to questions. Topics covered include:


USACE - Revised Definition of "Waters of the United States"

USFWS - Endangered Species Updates including Northern Long-eared Bat (NLEB), Little Brown Bat, Tricolored Bat, Monarch butterfly.

ODNR - Potential Permitting changes as it relates to the NLEB Listing and the upcoming Methane Rule.

OEPA - Methane Rule update and Ohio Implementation Discussion

    Biologist/Mitigation Banking and ILF Specialist at Buffalo District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

    Susan Baker has spent the last 14 years working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District Regulatory Branch. She spent her first eight years with the Ohio Permit Application Evaluation Section and the last six as the District’s Mitigation Banking and In-Lieu Fee Specialist. Susan also serves as the District’s Subject Matter Expert for all things mitigation- and jurisdiction-related and has been involved in “waters of the U.S.” rulemakings with Corps Headquarters since 2014. Susan earned her bachelor’s in environmental policy and master’s in forest and natural resource management from SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry.

    Angela Boyer

    Fish and Wildlife Biologist at U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

    Angela Boyer is a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Division of Ecological Services in Columbus, Ohio where she has worked for the past 24 years. She received her B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Lake Superior State University in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She began her career with the Service in 1993 at the Ludington Biological Station in Ludington, Michigan working for the Sea Lamprey Control Program throughout the Great Lakes. In 1999 she took a position at the Columbus Office for Ecological Services as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist. She specializes in bat and freshwater mussel conservation throughout Ohio.

    Jessica Kuenzli

    Deputy director of business and regulatory affairs at Ohio EPA

    As deputy director of business and regulatory affairs, Jessica Kuenzli acts as a primary contact for regulated entities to help coordinate permitting activities within Ohio EPA, particularly for complex project requiring multiple permits. Kuenzli also assists in coordinating statewide efforts related to compliance assistance and outreach.

    Kuenzli joined Ohio EPA in 2012 at the Southeast District Office in the Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC). Since then, she has served the division in a multitude of roles including Southeast district manager, overseeing the statewide permit support unit, the air quality evaluation and planning unit, and training coordinator for DAPC.

    Kuenzli graduated from the University of Toledo with an undergraduate degree in geography and planning and received a Master of Science degree from Ohio University.

    Tara Lee, PE has been with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for 30 years. She is currently the assistant chief of the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management and also acts as the Oil and Gas Waste Facilities Program manager. Tara has over 28 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment design and operations. She has a bachelor of science degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Ohio State University.
