Our sixth Annual Luncheon & Scholarship Awards will be held on Friday, September 29th at the Four Seasons Denver! This year's event features four women in energy, each of whom will tell a personal story around our chapter's theme of "Fuel Your Passion." Moderated by Jessica Blackstock, our storytellers include:

In addition to hearing from our speakers, we'll be announcing the recipients of our 2023 Kelly de la Torre Scholarship award. This year marks our fifth year of distributing funds to young women in Colorado who are pursuing energy related secondary education. We hope you can join us for this impactful event!

    Jessica Blackstock supports individuals and teams in fostering connection and growth in order to maximize their potential. She has worked with Marriott, Google, Salesforce and Squarespace among others to help improve transparency and deepen collaboration among colleagues through facilitation work and story coaching. She currently leads learning and development programming for Snapchat. She has experienced firsthand how stories can create inclusion on teams, increase empathy and help individuals take their next step. She is excited to be here today and guide us through four meaningful stories exploring our theme of Powered to Empower.

    C. Elaine Carleton is a Denver-based attorney who is licensed in Colorado and Texas. Her practice primarily focuses on upstream oil and gas and energy development. Elaine has extensive business and legal experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry. She has over 35 years of practical experience in the oil and gas industry including acquisition/divestment, exploration, marketing, and development. Elaine currently serves as the managing partner of Carleton Gotlin Law PC, and she specializes in advising and representing clients on challenging title curative matters, due diligence projects, complex multi-formation title opinions, issues covering large spacing and pooled units, Determination of Heirship actions and as an expert witness in mineral title matters.

    Elaine graduated with a BBA from the University of Texas with an emphasis in Petroleum Land Management. Prior to returning to school (University of Denver Sturm College of Law), for her law degree, she worked as a landman, crude oil marketer, division order analyst and project coordinator for development of a gas/oil marketing system. Elaine has authored and presented numerous papers covering complex title issues, pooling and spacing, determinations of heirship actions, quiet title actions, surface issues, and conveyance of minerals for the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (f/k/a Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation), Colorado Bar Association’s Natural Resources section and Trust and Estate sections, the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen, National Association of Division Order Analysts, and other local Denver associations.

    Elaine is a member of the Colorado, Texas, Denver and Colorado Women’s Bar Associations and is active in the Natural Resources sections and the Trusts and Estates sections of the State Bars. She is also a member of the Denver Association of Oil and Gas Title Lawyers, as well as being a past president and treasurer. Elaine is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and is a Certified Professional Landman, having been certified in 1987 and keeping her certification current. Elaine is also a member of the Denver Association of Professional Landmen and previously served on the Education Committee and as co-chair of the Legal and Legislative Committee. She is a member of the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law and serves as a Special Institutes Committee member and previously served as a trustee of the Foundation. Elaine previously served as president of the Women’s Estate Planning Council. In 2016, Elaine was nominated by the Denver Business Journal as a top Energy Attorney in Colorado.

    Ms. Foschi is the Chief Financial Officer for Civitas Resources, Inc. Prior to this role, Ms. Foschi was Chief Financial Officer of Extraction Oil and Gas where she was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 award winner. Prior to joining Extraction, Ms. Foschi was an associate at the Blackstone Group, focusing on debt and equity investing across the energy sector. Previously Ms. Foschi worked at Credit Suisse in Houston where she was involved in capital market transactions for oil and gas companies. She holds a bachelor’s of business administration in finance and a bachelor’s degree in economics, with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.

    Christina Henderson is the Director of Performance Excellence at Suncor Energy’s Commerce City Refinery. She has worked for Suncor for more than 22 years, holding various positions in Suncor’s Upstream, Midstream and Downstream divisions, spanning from process engineering and product trading to plant operations, maintenance, and transportation. She has held leadership positions with the company for the past 17 years and is one of only two U.S.-based employees to transfer to Suncor’s Oil Sands operations in northern Alberta, Canada. While there, she oversaw one of the extraction plants at the 5,000+ employee facility.

    Christina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, and skiing with her husband and two daughters when she’s not volunteering at a swim meet or driving kids between activities.

    Jennifer (Jen) Hornemann has served as Vice President of Production since January 2022. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Production Operations. Before joining Antero, Jen managed the Facilities Engineering & Water teams for QEP Resources, overseeing implementation of full modular production process designs for new Permian developments along with Williston and Haynesville facility installations. Prior to QEP, Jen worked across multiple ExxonMobil companies from 2009 to 2017, focusing on asset integrity for West Africa offshore equipment and pipelines as a Senior Research Engineer. During her time at XTO as Senior Facilities Engineer, she led integrity programs for offshore Cook Inlet assets and onshore Piceance, Williston and Permian production facilities. Jen began her career with General Electric as a gas turbine Product Design Engineer. She holds a Professional Engineering License along with a B.S. in Physics from Stephen F. Austin State University, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University. She is married to Michael Hornemann and together they are raising their son Torsten.
