  • KC Becker (CEO of Colorado Solar & Storage Association)

    KC Becker

    CEO of Colorado Solar & Storage Association

    Website

    KC Becker is the new CEO of the Colorado Solar and Storage Association. Most recently, she was President Biden's appointee to lead Region 8 of the Environmental Protection Agency, overseeing EPA’s activities in six western states.

    Prior to that, she completed four terms in the Colorado legislature, culminating as the Speaker of the House. As a state legislator, KC led a variety of major environmental efforts, including laws to reform the oil and gas industry, create statewide greenhouse gas reduction requirements, and update the Public Utility Commission's authorizing statute.

    Before serving in the Colorado legislature, she spent four years on Boulder, Colorado's city council. She also worked for seven years as a public lands attorney at the U.S. Department of the Interior.

    KC graduated with a degree in Government from the College of William and Mary, earned her JD from Lewis and Clark Law School with a certificate in Environmental Law, and received an MS in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business. She lives in Boulder with her husband, two sons, and French bulldog.

    Adam Eckman is the President and CEO of the Colorado Mining Association, where he leads the oldest professional mining industry trade association in the United States. CMA represents companies engaged in the exploration, production, and refining of mineral resources, as well as mining companies with national and global headquarters in Colorado, equipment manufacturers, law firms, engineering and consulting organizations, and financial institutions serving the mining industry.

    Adam has spent his career working with the mining industry, having advocated for its legal, regulatory, and legislative interests as Associate General Counsel for the National Mining Association. Prior to his time with NMA, Adam worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. for several members of the Colorado Congressional delegation and as counsel to the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, Subcommittee on Water and Power.

    Before leading CMA, Adam was an attorney for the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he counseled federal agencies and litigated cases on mining, water, and environmental issues. In each of these roles, he worked with a wide range of natural resources, energy, environmental, and regulatory policy issues impacting the mining industry.

    Adam serves on the Trustees Council of the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law and is on the Board of Directors of the CMA Education Foundation.

    Lynn Granger is the President and CEO of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA), bringing more than two decades of energy policy and strategic communications leadership experience.

    Prior to joining COGA, Granger served as Regional Director at the American Petroleum Institute (API) and Executive Director of API Colorado. She previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Colorado Concern, where she led operational and strategic execution supporting statewide policy efforts.

    Granger's public sector experience includes serving as Communications Director for the Colorado Department of Revenue during former Governor John Hickenlooper's administration, where she was the department's subject matter expert and primary media liaison.

    Her career began with the U.S. Army, where she served for 12 years both in uniform and as a civilian. As a 46R broadcast journalist, she hosted a morning radio show providing vital command information to troops near the DMZ in South Korea. Her military career culminated as a strategic communications adviser to the Commander of United States Army Europe.

    Granger is committed to advancing fact-based discussions about Colorado's energy future, emphasizing that energy policy should transcend partisan lines. Under her leadership, she prioritizes inclusive stakeholder engagement and building consensus through bringing diverse perspectives together.

    Michael J. Orlando is the Executive Director of the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities and Energy Management. He also teaches corporate finance, political risk analysis and strategy, and energy markets in the Center’s programs.

    He is a former petroleum engineer, research economist, and Vice President in the Federal Reserve System. Michael has over 35 years of experience in various facets of the energy and resource industries, providing analysis and expert testimony for regulatory proceedings, litigation, international arbitration, and advising organizations facing complex commercial, financial, and political risks.

    Michael holds Ph.D. and MA degrees in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, an MBA from Tulane University, and a BS in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
