We'll feature four dynamic speakers for this panel discussion where you'll hear generational perspectives and experiences on one of today's hottest industry topics. We'll discuss what's driving the energy transition, who the drivers are and what changes can we expect?


This session promises to provoke thoughts, ignite ideas and insights. As well as an opportunity for you to expand and/or reconnect with your industry peers.

    Norm earned both his BS, MS and Ph.D in Chemistry from Rice University and has been in the energy industry for over 30 years. He started his career as a research chemist with Nalco, which later become known as ChampionX. His work was primarily in the areas of Corrosion and Water Clarification, generating a number of products that are still in use today. As he progressed in the technology area, he was transferred to Fawley, England to lead the Production Chemistry research group. Upon his return to Sugar Land, Texas, he managed the Flow Assurance research group and under his direction, the team built the original deepwater chemical product lines and the first generation of Surflo certified umbilical qualified products.

    Norm later worked at The Dow Chemical Co. for ten years where he was the Sr. R&D Director of the Oil & Gas business and Freeport Site Leader before returning to ChampionX in 2018. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility, guiding his teams to successfully create and implement revolutionary and transformative solutions in all aspects of the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors of Oil & Gas. His leadership experience also includes marketing experience in a Marketing Director capacity. In his current role, Norm leads a global RD&E team of over 200 people at ChampionX, where he guides the team to drive innovations that help further the efficiency and effectiveness of efforts in the energy transition.

    In addition to his role as Vice President of RD&E, Norm also serves on the leadership committee and is a strong advocate of RISE, ChampionX’s employee resource group dedicated to promoting gender equality by inspiring all employees to foster a culture of gender diversity and inclusion.

    Parul Dhall is a Senior Director of Low Carbon Technologies at NOV Inc., an international energy service company. She is a creative and forward-thinking leader with more than 15 years of experience in engineering, operations, and business development in the energy industry.
    In her current role, Parul is instrumental in developing business opportunities with energy transition. She is well experienced in navigating through complexities of climate-tech, market, geo-politics, and economics for different low carbon technologies. Parul believes that energy transition is a generational opportunity to shape the futures of our economy, society, and planet.
    Parul has a Graduate Degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from the Pennsylvania State University and an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India. She has also completed executive certification on and Climate Change Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and executive program on Corporate Sustainability Management from Yale School of Management.
    Parul has been a board member of Global Energy transition (GET), a non-profit focused on advancing displaced energy professionals toward new or existing businesses or employment opportunities to include the new low-carbon emissions economy. In 2021, she was a recognized by Ally Energy with a GRIT award for her leadership and expertise in the energy industry.
    Parul is a mother of two young boys, and lives with her family in the Woodlands, TX.

    Angela has over 16 years of leadership experience in the energy sector, including 11 years leading supply and trading teams and over 5 years developing commercial strategies for the energy transition. In 2021, Angela became a public company director providing governance with a focus on the energy transition.

    Angela currently serves as a Non-Executive Director for Parkland Corporation, a food and convenience store operator and independent fuel supplier. Angela is a member of the Environmental, Safety, and Sustainability Committee and the Governance, Nominations, and Ethics Committee.

    From 2021-2022, Angela was Director of New Energy Ventures at Williams where she created and implemented commercial strategies for low carbon energy solutions, developed new business to help customers meet their emissions reductions goals, and led the venture capital program.

    Previously, Angela gained a deep understanding of energy through her 27-year career with BP. In her last role, she created deal structures to support financing renewable and low carbon projects. Prior to that, Angela was responsible for building energy commodity businesses and held a variety of leadership positions including Senior Vice President Marketing and Origination and Vice President Marketing and Supply. During this time, Angela also served on the Board of the National Propane Gas Association in roles including Supplier Section Chair and Vice-Chair of the Propane Supply and Logistics Committee.

    Angela earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston.

    Brittney is a Senior Advisor, Climate Strategy and Policy at Woodside Energy, based in Houston, Texas. Prior to her current role in the Strategy and Climate Team at Woodside, she held both leadership and geoscience technical roles at BHP across Exploration and Production, as well as an externally-facing role on BHP’s Climate and Sustainability team, focused on sustainability and climate change strategy, stakeholder engagement, and project management. Prior to joining BHP in 2015, Brittney received her doctorate in Geology from the University of South Carolina, with focus in Climate Science (Paleoclimatology). Brittney has a deep passion for sustainable corporate strategy, the energy transition, and progressing sustainability and innovation in the resource industry.

She has served both large- and small-scale clients across multiple industries including oil & gas, media, pharmaceuticals, and consumer projects. Patti holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University. She is a member of SHRM and is GPHR certified.

    Patti has a breadth of international experience including being an expat herself. Having spent 3 years on assignment in the UK, she worked with many European organizations to transform their global assignment program.

    Patti speaks at industry conferences and roundtables on the role of mobility in an organization. Prior to joining Deloitte, she worked in HR for a large oil and gas company where she was a PeopleSoft analyst.
