Event Details

OIM (Offshore Installation Manager), the ultimate work authority (i.e. captain) for offshore production platforms, is no longer a potential acronym for "Only Includes Men." LaToya Stallworth, Area Production Manager for bp's Mad Dog and Argos platforms, will share her journey to becoming one of bp's first female OIMs. She will explore what it is like to spend 14 to 28 days offshore and to lead safe, compliant, and efficient operations on a platform with 130+ people onboard comprised of nearly all men.

LaToya Stallworth is the Area Production Manager for bp's Mad Dog and Argos platforms. Her journey with bp began as a Process Engineer after graduating from Florida A&M University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. She then found a love for operations as Site Engineer on Holstein platform. To further her leadership skills, LaToya went on to complete her MBA at Harvard Business School. During her time at Harvard, she had the privilege of serving as a McKinsey Summer Management Consultant and engaging in leadership immersions in both China and Rwanda.

Returning to bp as the Chief of Staff to the President of bp's Gulf Coast Restoration Organization, LaToya progressed in her career as Operations Team Leader for PSVM FPSO in Angola. She subsequently returned to the Gulf of Mexico region, where she was promoted to Offshore Installation Manager at Atlantis platform, followed by Engineering Manager for Mad Dog and Thunder Horse platforms.

Outside of work, LaToya has a passion for traveling and has immersed herself in new cultures in over 50 countries. She enjoys exploring Houston's vibrant food scene, attending wine tastings, and can often be found cheering on the Houston Astros or playing a round of golf.
