Please join us for a panel of renewable energy experts that will discuss the current issues and challenges facing wind, solar, and storage development. Our panelists will include Elizabeth Brereton, Associate General Counsel with AES Clean Energy, Amy Peterson, Resource Development Director with Pacificorp, and Ravi Kotecha, Senior Director, Head of Real Estate with Lightsource BP.


Leeza Evensen, a renewable energy partner with Snell & Wilmer, will moderate the panel.

    My practice is concentrated in public utility regulation, energy and environmental law including issues surrounding public utility rate cases, energy resource procurement, nuclear generation and development, state and federal permitting, electric transmission regulation, state regulations affecting the oil and gas industry, and mineral development. I advise clients on the regulatory process, environmental liabilities, critical infrastructure security and developing internal compliance strategies. My background as a regulator, and my experience with regulatory agencies, allows me to help my clients navigate complex regulatory processes and develop effective litigation strategies. In addition, I have a unique perspective on developing and implementing cyber security best practices due to my past focus on electric grid cyber security.

    Amy Peterson is currently serving as a Resource Development Director at PacifiCorp. She leads the development of PacifiCorp-owned renewable energy projects that provide power to customers in the Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power service territories. Prior to joining PacifiCorp, Amy and her respective teams at SB Energy and AES (fka sPower) successfully developed and constructed more than 35 utility-scale solar projects across the U.S. Amy also serves on the Women’s Energy Network Board of Directors as the Executive Director at Large for the Utah Chapter. When she is not working to offset our carbon footprint or functioning as a pack mule at her daughter’s dance competitions, Amy can be found on a hiking trail or ski slope in the Wasatch mountains.

    His career spans across leading teams at Clearway Energy, NRG Energy, SunEdison and Fotowatio Renewable Ventures. In the early part of his career, he worked as a paralegal representing a mix of commercial real estate developers and lenders. Mr. Kotecha has been integral to the successful development of over 7.5 GW of operational and under-construction wind, solar and battery storage projects throughout the United States.

    Overall, Mr. Kotecha has been involved in energy-related real estate work for over 14 years with a background in legal and commercial real estate, while also currently serving on the Board of Directors for Lathrop Irrigation District.
